The photo above is of the first female black graduate of the University of the Pacific, Mildred Jones. She was studying piano in the Conservatory of Music. This photo is important since it offers another perspective of what Mildred looked like. The only photo on record is a side profile of her in a graduating cap and gown. The photo shows a viewpoint of what she would possibly wear when she was on campus. This photo was found in a yearbook two years before she graduated which was in 1924.
